Shook Celebrates Women’s History Month with Fireside Chat Webinar
In celebration of Women’s History Month, Shook’s Intellectual Property Practice Group is pleased to host retired Justice Patricia Timmons-Goodson for a virtual fireside chat, “Positioned for Opportunity,” March 23, 1:00 p.m. CT.
After an introduction by Shook Intellectual Property Of Counsel Natalie Ward, Shook Intellectual Property Of Counsel Tearra Vaughn will sit down with Justice Timmons-Goodson to hear the journey of how she became a judge, a justice and a commissioner vice chair. Justice Timmons-Goodson will share best practices for bench-bar relations, managing diversity issues in the legal profession, and how individuals can identify and obtain stretch opportunities to prepare themselves before receiving the next promotion.
Patricia Timmons-Goodson was most recently an associate justice on the Supreme Court of North Carolina from 2006 to 2012. She served as an associate judge on the North Carolina Court of Appeals from 1997 to 2005 and as a district court judge of the Twelfth Judicial District of North Carolina from 1984 to 1997. Her 28-year tenure on the bench was marked by distinguished work on each of the three courts and has been recognized with awards such as the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, Liberty Bell, Appellate Judge of the Year, three honorary degrees, and induction into the North Carolina Women’s Hall of Fame.
