Three Attorneys Named Top 40 Under 40 National Black Lawyers

The National Black Lawyers has listed three Shook attorneys among the 2026 Top 40 Under 40. Associates Rhakeem Brown, Sheldon Poole and Staff Attorney Ashley B. Hayes were all selected for providing excellent legal representation in their respective practice areas. 

Based in Shook’s Kansas City office, Brown focuses his practice on defending clients in product liability, premises, commercial and general liability litigation disputes in state and federal courts. Beyond his practice, Brown devotes time to pro bono work, helping individuals navigate landlord-tenant disputes and complex immigration processes.

Poole is based in Shook’s Hartford office and primarily defends corporate clients in product liability and environmental toxic tort litigation. He handles all phases of litigation in cases pending in multiple states and has been effective at attacking claims through successful motion practice on behalf of his clients.

Hayes works within Shook’s Complex Litigation and Strategic Counseling and Data and Discovery Strategies Practice teams in Washington, D.C. and uses her considerable experience in data technology, researching, reviewing and evaluating information to protect and defend clients’ legal and business interests.
