Kevin brings a wealth of experience as a former trial counsel in the U.S. Army JAGS Corps to his role as a litigator in the firm’s Class Action and Complex Litigation Group.
Kevin began his legal career as an intern for the U.S. Army JAGS Corps while earning his J.D. at Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was also a student attorney in civil litigation for the University’s Social Justice Clinic. Beginning his post-graduate career as a state and federal civil litigation law clerk in a private practice law firm, Kevin returned to JAGS as an administrative law attorney and ethics counselor in the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate. He was promoted to trial counsel, where he prosecuted felony-level trials, bringing six criminal trials to verdict, represented the government through all stages of court-martial proceedings and provided legal advice to senior stakeholders within the Pacific covering over 16,000 soldiers.
Promoted to trial defense counsel for the U.S. Army’s Trial Defense Service in the Pacific Rim, Kevin served as lead counsel for more than ten ongoing criminal trials, taking seven to verdict; facilitated the removal of trials to alternative disposition; prepared, responded to, and argued dispositive motions based on procedure, fundamental constitutional rights, rules of evidence and discovery; and advised over one hundred clients on criminal proceedings, potential strategies and dispositions. Comfortable and skilled in courtrooms, Kevin’s background plus the leadership skills instilled in the Army give his clients peace of mind as he represents them at trial.
