Melina focuses her practice on class action and complex product liability matters. She is involved in all levels of pretrial work, including case evaluation and strategy, initial pleadings, discovery and motion practice. Before joining Shook, she was an associate for a civil litigation and trial defense firm in Los Angeles.   

In addition to product liability work, Melina has handled the defense of workers’ compensation claims, handling depositions and appearing as sole counsel before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. While in law school, she clerked for the Contra Costa County District Attorney and the Los Angeles County District Attorney, where she worked on matters related to consumer protection and environmental regulation compliance.

Melina is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law, where she served as an associate editor for the UCLA Law Review and as a staff editor for the UCLA Women’s Law Journal.
