Trudy represents Fortune 100 and other large companies in a wide range of complex litigation matters. From product liability matters with billions of dollars of damages alleged, to high-exposure individual cases, Trudy helps clients efficiently navigate and successfully litigate disputes to their resolution.
 
In Trudy’s discovery practice, she has been on national teams in all phases of corporate discovery, including representing a Fortune 500 client in state and federal court during motion practice proceedings on discovery-related issues. She has briefed and supported arguments on a broad range of motions arising from the discovery process, such as those regarding the scope of discovery, confidentiality, and privilege issues. Trudy also negotiates protective orders and other joint filings with opposing counsel and routinely works with clients on corporate fact investigation, document preservation, and preparation of written discovery responses and preparation of company witnesses for testifying at depositions or trials. Additionally, she supervises document reviews and productions ranging from thousands to millions of pages.
 
Trudy’s discovery practice is informed by her broad experience in all phases of product liability litigation and environmental matters, including initial case analysis and assessment, developing case strategy, pretrial, fact and expert discovery, dispositive motion practice, and trial. She has worked on numerous individual matters in state and federal courts across the country for clients including Meta, Bayer, Monsanto, Pharmacia, Solutia and Pfizer. Trudy routinely briefs complex legal issues and has significant experience with Daubert issues, punitive damages, choice-of-law, and other intricate legal matters. Her experience extends into the firm’s Environmental Practice, dealing with issues arising under the Clean Water Act and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act. Recently, she has defended clients against claims for natural resource damages brought by state, city, and tribal governments.
 
Trudy has an active pro bono practice that focuses on assisting women in need, both nationwide and locally in St. Louis. Trudy also participates in firmwide initiatives to support survivors of gender-based violence, providing critical legal research and support to community-based rape crisis centers, domestic violence shelters, and other victim services programs. Her dedication to pro bono work reflects her commitment to using her legal skills to make a positive impact on the community. Trudy also assists in the firm’s summer associate program for the St. Louis office.
 
Trudy developed her legal research and writing skills while serving as a law clerk for the American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri Foundation, where she researched complex legal issues, drafted motions, and assisted with depositions in preparation for trial. Trudy earned her J.D. degree from Washington University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University, graduating magna cum laude. During law school, she served as an editor for the Washington University Jurisprudence Review.
