Charlie concentrates his practice in business litigation, where he handles matters at all stages from initial client counseling to preparation for appeal.

Before joining Shook, Charlie was a law clerk for the Hon. Laura Denvir Stith, Judge of the Supreme Court of Missouri. During law school, he was a judicial extern for the Hon. Kurt S. Odenwald, Judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District.

While at Saint Louis University School of Law, Charlie served as co-president of the student organization Street Law, growing its membership from eight to more than 50 students. As co-president, he taught classes at the City Justice Center, the Medium Security Institute, the Juvenile Detention Center and the Confluence Academy. He also led afterschool “know your rights” classes for College Bound, and worked with staff of the mayor’s office and local universities to draft proposed revisions to bail ordinances. In addition, he served as an intern for the Missouri State Public Defender.
