Jacob is an attorney with the firm’s Environmental and Toxic Tort Litigation Practice.
Before joining Shook, Jacob served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable William C. Griesbach of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. As a clerk, he managed half of the court’s civil docket, prepared draft orders and decisions, and drafted bench memoranda for motion hearings and oral arguments.
While in law school at the University of Iowa, Jacob served as a student trainee in the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Office of Energy Market Regulation. There, he distilled complex legal and technical information to prepare case summaries and drafted delegated letter orders. He also served as a research assistant for Professor Shannon Roesler, authoring research memoranda on a variety of environmental law issues, primarily those impacting Iowa. Additionally, while in law school, Jacob served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Stephen B. Jackson of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa and a judicial extern to the Honorable C.J. Williams of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa.
