Tabitha is an associate in Shook’s General Liability Litigation Practice Group. She has experience representing clients in a variety of industries and variety of disputes. She has experience handling cases throughout all stages of litigation. Tabitha earned her J.D. from George Mason University, Antonin Scalia Law School where she served as Forum Editor of the George Mason Law Review.
Tabitha began her legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Chief Judge Stephen R. Clark in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. As a district court law clerk, Tabitha conducted in-depth legal research on a wide array of issues, coordinated civil and criminal trial preparation with counsel and U.S. Attorneys and assisted with the substantive orders and opinions in civil cases.
Tabitha then spent years at a top law firm in New York where she gained experience representing insurance companies, banks and other large companies in many different legal matters. As part of that representation, Tabitha gained significant experience researching, drafting and editing a variety of dispositive and discovery-related motions. Tabitha enjoys working with clients and opposing parties to gain the best possible outcome for the client.
Before returning to Kansas City to join Shook, Tabitha served as a judicial law clerk to Judge Lavenski R. Smith of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. In that role, she analyzed complex legal issues and contributed to the resolution of significant appellate matters.
