McCarthy Obtains CIPP/US Certification

Shook Associate Colman McCarthy has earned the designation of Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), accredited by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). 

The IAPP is the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community and resource and the CIPP certification is considered “the global gold standard for privacy professionals,” demonstrating a strong understanding of U.S. privacy laws and regulations by those who achieve it.
 
McCarthy is a member of Shook’s Privacy and Data Security practice and has directed a number of responses to data incidents, from business-email compromise to employee theft of information to HIPAA risk assessments. He assists clients with quick and efficient resolution of these time-sensitive matters to ensure compliance and minimize legal risks.
