Emma’s practice focuses on complex intellectual property and commercial disputes, including patent and trade secret litigation, contract and licensing disputes and unfair competition claims. Emma represents clients across a variety of industries, with particular experience involving software, biotechnology, data transfer and financial technologies. Emma has experience throughout all phases of litigation, including fact and expert discovery, depositions, dispositive motion practice, trial preparation and settlement negotiations in federal courts nationwide. She also represents clients in post-grant proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including inter partes review and ex parte reexamination proceedings. Emma advises clients on intellectual property strategy, portfolio development and licensing matters. Emma also has a pro bono practice and has represented several clients seeking asylum in immigration proceedings.

Represented major pharmaceutical company in Hatch-Waxman patent infringement actions against 16 generic drugmaker defendant groups, relating to the defendant groups’ submissions of abbreviated new drug applications (ANDA) to the FDA seeking approval of generic versions of a first-in-class agent for the reversal of certain types of neuromuscular blockade in adults undergoing surgery.
