Chambers USA 2012 Recognizes Shook
Shook, Hardy & Bacon’s product liability, environmental, general commercial litigation, intellectual property, and labor and employment practices have been singled out for recognition in the 2012 edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.
Shook’s product liability practice was again ranked in the top tier (Band One) of all firms nationwide, and was one of only two practices nationwide that Chambers recommended for both client service and commercial awareness. Shook’s commercial litigation and environmental practices each earned Band One rankings in Kansas City and Band Three rankings in Florida, while the firm’s labor and employment practice earned a Band One ranking in Kansas City.
This year’s edition of Chambers USA features a new intellectual property section for the state of Missouri. Shook received a Band One ranking, with Chambers noting that the firm’s “national IP practice is a front runner in this space, and provides a full range of IP services” to Microsoft, Sony, Coca-Cola, and Nike.
Chambers also recognized 23 Shook partners, including Rob Adams, Mark Anstoetter, Gene Balloun, John Barkett, Dave Erickson, Amor Esteban, Bill Geraghty, Tom Grever, Harvey Kaplan, Bill Martucci, Carrie McAtee, John McNally, Ed Moss, Joe Rebein, Ken Reilly, Todd Ruskamp, Bill Sampson, Hildy Sastre, Terry Satterlee, Scott Sayler, Gene Voigts, Sean Wajert, and Trent Webb.
The legal guide includes feedback from many firm clients, one of whom noted that Shook ranks “highest in terms of client service out of any firm I’ve come across; they are so responsive, they take the burden of the litigation.” Additional sources highlighted the firm’s “robust team of trial lawyers,” noting that Shook attorneys are “easy to work with, practical and creative. They have a superb approach and are practical about how it affects the client’s business.”
