Shook IP Partner to Speak on Smart Hospitals at International Young Lawyers’ Congress
Shook Intellectual Property Partner George Ngengwe will be part of a three-person international panel presenting at the 63rd International Young Lawyers’ Congress to be held August 25-30 at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington, D.C.
Ngengwe’s presentation, “Smart Hospitals and the Future of Health Law: Managing Challenges and Protecting IP Rights,” takes place August 27, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. ET. Ngengwe and his UK colleagues will explore key issues in data integrity, cybersecurity, patient privacy, and IP law─including biotech research and cross-border licensing and ownership─in light of health care adoption of digital innovations from smart hospitals and IoT to wearables and digital therapeutics.
The Congress is a product of the International Association of Young Lawyers, the only global association dedicated to lawyers and in-house legal counsel aged 45 and under. Shook is a sponsor of the event.
