Shook Prevails in Patent Infringement Trial Involving Fiber-Optic Data Delivery

U.S. District Court, District of Delaware

Shook, Hardy & Bacon prevailed for client Sprint Corp. in a patent infringement trial against Comcast Corp. The one-week jury trial took place in Wilmington, Delaware, with U.S. District Judge Richard Andrews presiding.

Shook Intellectual Property Litigation Chair Trent Webb led the trial team, arguing that Comcast saved millions of dollars annually by infringing two patents related to fiber-optic data delivery. After less than a day of deliberation, the jury awarded the full $27.6 million in damages that our client was seeking. Sprint Commc'ns LP v. Comcast Cable Commc'ns LLC et al., No. 1:12-cv-01013 (D. Del. 2015).
